The Kaaba is the central shrine of the Grand Mosque, where Muslims from all around the world come to perform the Hajj pilgrimage every year. Muslims believe that God tested Abraham in the life-threatening journey to Makkah, then to offer Abraham's son Isaac as a sacrifice on the occasion. In this journey, Abraham had to keep faith with his God despite all of the difficulties that he encountered. Muslims believe that through his faith and persistence in their most holy city, God forgave Abraham and accepted his son. The Hajj is an obligation for all able-bodied Muslims.
