Places to visit near Makka:
1. Masjid Al Haram:
This is the largest mosque in the world that occupied 1.2 million pilgrims. This largest mosque houses has the holy well of Zamzam, and the most beautiful black cubic structure the Kaaba. Muslim turn to AL-Haram five times a day for prayers.
2. Jannat ul Mualla:
This graveyard is distance of ten-minute drive from the Grand Mosque in Makka. This, together with the Mosque of Jinn, is easily approachable on any schedule howsoever tight. These are best places to those near and dear to the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) their names Hazrat Khadija (May God be pleased with her) and Hazrat Abu Talib, who supported Him in all his life, are buried here.
3. Masjid Aisha:
The Aisha Mosque occupies a significant important in the architectural crisis of Saudi Arabia. Masjid Aisha, also considered as Masjid at-Tan’eem, is a beautiful place where Ummul-Mu’mineen Aisha (RA) wears Ihram to perform Umrah when the Prophet (PBUH) said her to do so during His farewell Hajj with her. Peoples arrive here to wear Ihram before performing umrah.
4. The Cave of Hira:
This is the cave where the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) achieved his first revelation from Allah the Almighty through Hazrat Jibrail (P.B.U.H). This is the holy place where our Prophet (peace be upon him) spent his time for meditation and deep thinking.
5. The Cave of Thawr:
The Prophet Mohammad (P.B.U.H) took refuge in this cave when he was being ambition and expel by the kufaar. Thus he signified this humble cave by letting it contribute its share into the campaign of Islam.
6. Jabal Rahmah:
It is also known as Mount Arafat, this elevation served as a platform for the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) when He delivered his last address. An annual Hajj assemblage takes place at the place of Arafat just beneath this rocky height.
7. Masjid al-Jinn:
The Holy Prophet Mohammad (P.B.U.H) when recited the Holy Quran to a bunch of passing Jinns, go on to affect them. It is surprising that those Jinns felt the blessing of those Quranic verses and fell delight.
8. Mina (The City of Tents):
The valley is dotted with more than 100,000 air-conditioned tents for the pilgrims converge into the city on the 8th of Dhul Hajj and also on the 10th to the 13th of Dhul Hajj and also in the valley of the Mina, the Jamarat Bridge is situated where pilgrims perform the ‘stoning of the devil‘.
9. Bir Tuwa (Well of Tuwa):
The word ’Tuwa’ referred as the pleated well. Today, this name Bir Tuwa has been bound to a well in Jarwal, called Tuwa. At this well, the Prophet (P.B.U.H) had spent his night. Then in the morning, he cleaned himself from its water and gone towards Makka. It is situated at the bottom of Makka at the north direction in Jarwal.
10. The Factory of Kiswah at Umm Al-Juda:
Kiswah is the name of cloth that shelters the Kaabah in Makka. Since the Kaaba was built by Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH), the Kiswah go through several changes. Throughout its historical time period, the Kiswa had undergone several changes due to economic and social factors.
11. Makkah Mall:
This mall is deliberated as a unique and important shopping centre by Saudi officials and Muslim visitors. The Makkah Mall is committed to creating a dynamic shopping and dining atmosphere in Makka. It grants a large variety of international & local brands with restaurants as well.
The Makkah Clock Tower is the third tallest tower in the world which has a height of 601 meters and contains 76 stories. Mostly people come only to stay at this beautiful tower roof and enjoy the stunning surrounding views.
13. Site of the Battle of Badr:
The Battle of Badr was a historic moment in the life of Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) while fighting in opposition to Makah’s pagan communities. Battle in the Hejaz region of Western Arabia in 624 CE, it is one of the few battles specified in the Quran. This place is present at a distance of 334 km from the city of Makka.
Places to visit near Madina:
1. Masjid Nabawi:
Madina has this distinction of housing the second most blessed building in the world, a dignity which it will retain till the day of Judgment. The Prophet (P.B.U.H) bought the land for this mosque from his own resources and even cooperates in the labors of its building. As told by Hazrat Abu Hurayra:
Allah's Messenger (P.B.U.H) told, "One prayer offered in my Mosque is better than one thousand prayers in any other mosque except that of Al-Masjid-AI-Haram."
2. Masjid e Quba:
When the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) migrated to Madina from Makka, he (P.B.U.H) went to the city through the village of Quba. The Quba Mosque was established by the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) himself to indicate that Islam had been properly settled in Madina. It is performed as a mosque, a town hall, and administration. A simple two-rakat nafal prayer offered here will be equal to the reward of Umrah.
3. Jabal Uhud:
Muslims fought three battles with the kufaar and the Battle of Uhud is a memorable battle from them. A highlight of this mountain consists of the Archers' Mound, the Cave of Uhud and the Graveyard of Martyrs.
4. Masjid e Ghamama:
This is a departed mosque of old times just nearest to the Roza-e-Rasool and marks the location where the Prophet (P.B.U.H) offered the Eid prayer. The mosque that pilgrims visit today was built later on by the Saudi government. it is also called the Mosque of Ghamama for several reasons as one such incident he had to pray for rain, it inspired the name of the mosque. Ghamama literally translate the meaning of clouds.
